Chapter 1 Excerpt

The Genesis of Success

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

Joshua 1:8 NKJV

We begin our journey by expounding on the concept of the genesis of success. Adam was given a command in the garden. We find in Genesis, in the first chapter, that a simple command was given to us, along with the framework and everything that entailed our success on earth. It was all laid out for us by God. It was simple:

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

Genesis 1:28 NKJV

So, the blueprint was already established for us to have dominion over all activity on earth. We must get back to our rightful place and facilitate true ownership, the way God intended it to be. We must replicate what exists in the Kingdom of Heaven right here on earth, where we’ve been ordained and purposed from birth to have dominion and to replenish. This simply means that we should be adding daily, not only increasing in our businesses, but also increasing in the family of God (Acts 2:47). There’s a dual purpose here. We have the intent and the ability not only to dwell in the natural arena by acquiring land and wealth, but also to increase our spiritual families as well. That’s been the mandate given and that’s what we’re excited about.

When people think about success, they often equate success with the accumulation of money and material things. Our equation for creating the type of success that we are speaking of is simple. To experience success the way God intended, we must think the thoughts of God, speak the Word of God, and perform the appropriate actions in order to see the outcomes that have been ordained. From the beginning of time, it was in the mind of God to give us success in our endeavors. He said,

“. . .Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

Genesis 1:26

We have been shaped and formed in His image. We, therefore, have the capacity to replicate many of His abilities here on earth. As He creates through thought and the vibration of His spoken Word, so can we. When we add performance and action to those powers, the only variable in the creation equation is time. Everything we want to manifest in our lives exists in our minds first. It’s just a matter of us focusing our intention and attention on the matter long enough for it to actually materialize in a way that we are able to see the fruits of our labor.
